Raisin Box Kelly Retourne 32
this item is excluded from promotional codes
Signature Kelly Retourne rendered in Raisin purple Box leather and accented with gold-plated hardware. Box leather is the original leather of the house, known for its propensity to show a rich patina with repeated use. Includes lock, two keys and clochette.
About the Kelly: First designed in 1932, the Kelly was introduced as a travel bag that was referred to as the sac à dépêches. It was then renamed to the Kelly after actress Grace Kelly was photographed numerous times with the bag (most notably, while she was pregnant and using it to cover her baby bump). The impeccable craftsmanship, classic silhouette, scarcity, and unique history make the Kelly a must-have for any handbag collector. The two styles of Kelly are the Sellier (or Rigide) and Retourne (or Souple). The Sellier has a more structured, rigid shape with distinct corners and visible exterior stitching, while the Retourne has a more relaxed, softer shape that has rounded edges as though the bag were turned inside out. It can take a single Hermès craftsman up to 18 hours to construct each Kelly.
