An almost calming yet thought-provoking piece, this off-white thermoplastic Lady Dior with matte silver hardware was created by artist Marguerite Humeau in September of 2019. It was crafted for the fourth edition of the LADY ART project which brings ten artists together to develop their own interpretation of the iconic Lady Dior bag.
Born in France, Marguerite Humeau currently resides in London where she studied at the Royal College of Art. Mademoiselle Humeau draws her inspiration for sculpture and visual art from intellectual interpretations of pre-historic biology and life. For her depiction of the Lady Dior, she called upon these influences to create a sculpture that appears to be carved of stone yet remain alive. While staring at the bag, you can almost believe the lines are moving in an infinite loop bringing Mademoiselle Humeau's vision to fruition.
