What Goes Around Comes Around is proud to present an ever-changing series highlighting iconic fashion runway moments throughout history and the pieces that were featured in these collections. Our introductory curation focuses on Jean Paul Gaultier’s time as creative director at Hermès. In 2004, Gaultier introduced his own version of the inimitable fashion house’s iconic handbag: the JPG Birkin. The JPG Birkin featured an elongated and slimmer silhouette with long handles – all while keeping the Birkin’s classic luxury aura. The JPG Birkin first appeared on Hermès Fall 2004 where it was carried by fashion model Linda Evangelista.
